Marshall police are asking the public's assistance in identifying a man who was caught on video Friday when he robbed Austin Bank.
Dispatchers received a 911 call from the bank at about 12:42 p.m. notifying them of the incident and including a description of the suspect, a press release said. Patrol officers, criminal investigators and Crime Scene Units responded to the location at 1210 E. Pinecrest Drive and searched the entire southeast area of the city, according to Sgt. Leland Benoit, public information officer.

"The suspect was not located and we are asking for public assistance in identifying him from still photo footage from the bank," he said.
The man is believed to have been in Marshall Mall before the heist and police are hoping someone may remember him or have made contact with him.
He is described as a white male between 5-feet, 10-inches and 6-feet, 2-inches in height and weighing between 180 and 200 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans, a white baseball cap and a tan or khaki-colored jacket, with strips down both sleeves. Benoit said the jacket appears to be light blue at some angles in the video footage. The man is said to have light brown hair and a mustache and is believed to be in his mid-40s to mid-50s.
He was last seen on foot near the JC Penney store in the mall and may be driving a mid-sized, dark blue, late model vehicle.
